As many of us who treat cancer patients would have experienced how various physical and emotional changes that occurred in our patients. As an individual, many of us are acutely aware of the "first impression are important in any society" phenomenon. As part of Sarawak Hospice Society's endeavor to improve the quality of life of our patients, we approached Estee Lauder Malaysia for their assistance in providing training to our staff, especially our nurses.

The main purpose was that these trained nurses could teach female patients the art of enhancing their looks even while undergoing treatment. The pictures below clearly illustrate what we mean. Psychologically when we look good, we feel more confident. In addition, we hope that our attempts in doing this would have a positive outcome in terms of patients being able to comply with treatment, coping with side effects and this would then translate to better treatment outcomes.
